| It
is that time of year again. Early spring brings one event you don't
want to miss, the CSM Icebreaker Races. PPWC participates
in the event as a citizens team. See
our previous year's photos, click here!
The
Colorado School of Mines Kayak Club cordially invites you to the
upcoming Icebreaker
Kayak Race in gorgeous Golden, Colorado.
The event will take place from the evening of Friday to Sunday.
This
year’s events include slalom
races, boater cross, kayak polo, rodeo in the hole, and raffle.
Events begin on Saturday and end on Sunday,
with a movie premiere on the CSM campus Friday
night. Registration
fees are $125 per school team, or $5 per individual citizen. These
fees include:
• Ticket, food, and drinks for
the kayak movie premier (Friday night)
• Entrance to competitions
• Race-day food
Each
team must consist of 5-6 people, including at least
one female. School teams will be eligible to win the
grand prize (historically a new boat).
In
the past, teams have been limited to school organizations only,
however, if you and your boater buddies want to compete shoot CSM
kayak Club csmkayak@gmail.com
or Gordon Stringer an email;
we’d love to have you comptete.
Teams
will not only be competing for Icebreaker bragging rights, but also
for cool gear for your club, and to top finishers.
If
the idea of early season boating in one of Colorado’s most
impressive play parks doesn’t thrill you, then come on down
for a weekend of movie premieres, food, beer, and the 1,000’s
of dollars in prizes we’ll be raffling off throughout the
event.
