Developing
Class 5 and Creeking Skills with LVM
Join
the
world's best creek and expedition boaters for one fantastic day
on the water. Tommy is well known for winning the Green Narrows
race a record five times. John and Tommy
paddled the Stikine River in British Colombia three times. The last
time as two of four paddlers who did the normal three day run in
one day. Tommy and John were member of the "7 Rivers Expedition"
in 2004, and can be seen regularly in LVM, John took over running
LVM last
year and Tommy has his own "Tommy's Top Ten" feature in
each issue. Be sure to catch John and Tommy hosting the LVM Premier.
This day on the water will help intermediate to advanced paddlers
begin to learn the on-river skills as well as preparation, evaluating
river features, decision support in class 5, and safety considerations,
that prepare you to move towards class 5 water and steep creeks.
These skills will help you become a better boater no matter what
level water you will paddle. Location determined closer to the paddling
date.
All
river skills, with, Eric
Jackson & Team JK, May 25th, 2008
EJ,
the current world Freestyle Champion, is considered the most well
known kayaker in the world, and Team Jackson Kayak includes other
world class paddlers such as Clay Wright, Jay Kinkaid, Dane and
Emily Jackson.
EJ's
river skills provide a foundation that give you the tools to move
from beginner to expert boater. Just be prepared, no matter what
your current skill level, to feel awkward as you learn to improve
the basic strokes and to layer compound strokes on top of boat control
concepts. To maximize your learning experience in the clinic, you
can study EJ's Strokes and Concepts or playboating DVDs available
at at EJ's
website. This clinic will be held at the Pueblo
whitewater park. It will focus on strokes, paddling concepts,
and playboating. Last years
clinic was a great success, and EJ has committed to coming back
again.
 This
is a chance for Class 4 boaters to work with Tommy to learn the
skills to take it to the next level. This trip will build on the
boaters growing Class IV skill set. This one is not for beginners.
Participants need to be comfortable paddling class IV.
Progressing
to Advanced
Playboating Skills, July 21, 2007
With
Katie Selby and Dustin Urban as instructors, you can focus

of South Main playpark.
Katie

Dustin held a fantastic playboating
clinic last year. Katie is a member of Team Wavesport.

on the river
at the new River Park.
Katie

won the inaugural Pine Creek Boater X time trial in 2005.
